About this Project: While in El Salvador, our team will partner with local churches, encouraging outreach to their own communities for ongoing impact. We will also partner with Orphan Helpers to assist in establishing a teen mentoring program as well as an outreach to young adult women who need help providing for themselves and their little ones in healthy, productive ways.
Who may come: This trip is open to all adults, middle school and high school students will be considered, under 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
Individual Costs: $2000
What are the accommodations? We will stay in a local Salvadoran home. It will be in a safe, gated community. There will be running water, but hot water is in limited supply. We will have a satellite phone connection, but WiFi usage has to be shared. There will be appointed times for shared WiFi use when we’re at the house, but WiFi may be available in public locations when we are out.
What we will eat? Native Salvadoran cuisine will be served during the mission. Other meals will be available in restaurants when traveling. Tap water and foods prepared with tap water should not be consumed by the team. Bottled water will be available.
What should I bring? Bring a Bible, your passport, camera, chargers, closed-toe shoes and a pair of flip flops, clothes for church, long pants, toiletries and medications, spending money, sunglasses, and a hat. Bring enough clothes for about half of the trip duration.
