Pastor Michael and Megan Brueseke are the senior pastors of Community Church – a multi-site church in Hampton Roads. The church averages 3,000 people during weekend services at three locations in Hampton Roads, and an international campus in Manila, Philippines. Thousands of people in all 50 states, 130 countries, and in 6 out of 7 continents, watch Pastor Michael speak through the church’s live, online broadcast and by watching previous messages on the church’s website.
Michael is an engaging communicator that talks about life in a real way; his speaking style is raw, authentic, and powerful. He uses current issues, illustrations, and even comedy to deliver messages revealing God’s voice to a cross-generational church. He believes that the Church (capital “C” – meaning all churches) should be a catalyst for positive change, not just inside the walls of the church building, but out in the community, sharing Jesus’ love and hope. He and Megan empower Community Church owners to live the way Jesus did – changing lives that impact the world. In fact, they have a vision that Community Church will reach 25,000 people by 2025!
While their vision for our church is awesome and expansive, it all starts with “the one”. The reason the Brueseke’s went into ministry in the first place is because they love seeing the way people’s lives are extraordinarily changed by the love of Jesus. They saw that their friends and coworkers were more excited to sit on a bar stool on Friday night than in a pew Sunday morning. Together, they decided that they wanted to do everything they could to inspire and incite that kind of excitement about Jesus. To create an environment where real heart change could happen, where one person could have their life turned upside down and inside out, and that person could see the love of Jesus in their life and know that when you’re all-in for Jesus – the Best is Yet to Come! That’s where their heart is, and that’s what makes them great senior pastors.
Michael and Megan have five children Boden, Claire, Titus, Soren, and Griffin and who are a huge joy in their life. They live in Chesapeake, Virginia. Michael received an undergraduate degree in Finance from Missouri State University and a Masters in Practical Theology from Regent University.
